Coverage. All five units of the current DP Music syllabus are addressed across 40 lessons — spanning the four areas of inquiry, contextual investigation, creative experimentation, the presentation of musical work, and the HL contemporary music maker extension. Lessons are framed by the nine key concepts and engage students in the interconnected roles of researcher, creator and performer throughout.

How the lessons work. Each lesson follows a clear teaching arc — a hook to surface prior thinking, guided development of musical understanding, structured practice, and an applied or evaluative task — with explicit learning objectives, command-term focus, ATL skill links, and differentiation. Every lesson ships with a lesson plan, a student worksheet, and a mark scheme.

Assessment-ready. Every subtopic builds toward the demands of DP Music assessment: the music journal, solo and ensemble performance, the musical links investigation, and — for HL — the contemporary music maker project. Exam-style and process-oriented tasks are integrated throughout, with mark schemes aligned to published assessment criteria.
